Five arrested for cash heist

Five men have been arrested by the Ladysmith Suspect Tracing Task Team, early this week.

It is believed that these men are implicated in the cash transmit heist, which took place earlier this month along the N11.

Gunmen target cast-van

One dead and another i critical condition after gun wielding gang men shot and crashed their way into a security vehicle which had been traveling along the N11, on Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, men with large firearms waited along the embankment and opened fire upon the traveling private security vehicle. "From out of nowhere a truck had come speeding and crashed head on with security vehicle," said one of the eyewitnesses.

Angry mob goes on violent rampage

Burning tyres, pieces of ripped up pavement , rocks and other debris lay scattered along the streets of Tskana as another violent outburst erupted within the residential areas.

Members of the police rushed with rubber bullets blazing, as angry illegal protestors turned violent, throwing stones towards the firing police officers. Long shadows ran across the main road leading to Tskana, as a mob of protestors blocked off all roads leading to a local councillor's home, Councillor Cebekhulu.

Cricket sport hero in the making

Aloe Park cricket player, Avesh Singh has a rap-sheet as long as the River Nile when it comes to his success in the cricket.

Avesh had been selected for the U/11, for cricket Northern KZN region in 2006 also in 2007. As well as the U/13 for Northern KZN region in 2008 and 2009.

Measles outbreak: Department on high alert

110th anniversary of the siege of Ladysmith
