Praising SAPS on National Police Day
Cabinet first approved a National Police Day for the country in 2005. National Police Days are also celebrated in countries across the world, such as Russia, the USA, Singapore, England, Wales and Australia, annually giving recognition to the services rendered by their respective policing agencies.
In South Africa this day also indicates to local and international communities that the SAPS is honored and respected for the law and order, and the safety and security it provides for South Africa and its people.
