Karate Legend to host Masters Camp in KZN

World karate Legend Grandmaster Kanazawa jets into KZN in mid April to conduct a Masters Camp for all KZN karate senior graded students and instructors.

The three time All Japan Champion(1957-1959)will be accompanied by World Champion Murakami who is in his 10th Anniversary visit to the province.

CANSA Shavathon

Over 300 work places and 150 shopping centres, nationwide pledged their support for this year's CANSA shavathon.

Cancer survivors Mark Pilgrim and Lilan Dude gave encouragement to all South Africans to show support as many sprayed or shave for a great cause.

Shoppex India 2010

Shoppex 2010 promises to be bigger and better for this landmark year. A bumper 16 day show will take place at Durban Exhibition Centre from the 27 March to 11 April. The show offers visitors a sparking array of fashion and bling from the world over. Our International Pavilion promises to surpass last years display with a special bridal range and an East meets West Fusion Range. The Shoppex Entertainment line up includes dancers, musicians, bands, bhangra, comedy, magic shows, prizes and competitions.

Local and international chefs from the Foood Court will provide gastronomic delights to thrill the most discerning palates.

Church welcomes new pastor

The Ladysmith Full Gospel Church recently welcomed their newly appointed Pastor Anton his wife, and two daughters to Ladysmith. Pastor Naude will be taking up the reins and leading the Full Gospel Church congregation.

"It has been an exciting challenge and we have been welcomed into the Full Gospel's family with open arms," Pastor Naude said

Ladysmith SAPS have arrested three men believed to be involved in a credit card cloning scam.

It is alleged that officers received a call on the whereabouts of the men.

Doctor arrested for defeating the ends of justice

Ladysmith SAPS recently arrested a 44 year old Provincial Hospital Doctor, for allegedly defeating the ends of justice. Earlier, this year friends and family were demanding answers, afterthe tragic, but sudden death of 61 year old Jimmy Mckenzie.

Mckenzie was found laying unconscious under his bed in his home, on 2 January 2010. Mckenzie was rushed to the hospital, but later died.

NERSA gives into Eskom's demands

South African homeowners will have to dig a little deeper from April 2010 this is because the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) accepted Eskom's tariff increase proposal. Eskom has been granted a 24.8% increase for 2010/2011 year.

Eskom provides almost 95% of the country's power and has been battling with an electricity shortage since January 2008, due to the lack of investment.
