Bins alight with fire

Three 'Why Waste' waste containers were allegedly set alight by matching protestors that had been taking part in the Municipal nation wide strike.

According to a local security company, the three containers were severely damaged due to the fact that the containers had been completely engulfed by flames. " People from other shops around the local shopping centre said that they had seen a group of people near the containers, " said one of that security guards, who had stood for almost a hour to hose down the blazing containers.

Brutal attack on car guard

The assault of a car guard by an off duty security guard has shocked council members and local car guards

The car guard, Nzamo Hlongwane (22), was assaulted by the security guard outside the local council offices. Its alleged that the car guard was supposed of have scratched his attackers sister's car

"I can't believe what I was seeing happening in front of me," said Simon Kunene, secretary of the Mayor, who witnessed the incident. According to Simon, the security guard started attacking the car guard, without any cause

Security guards escape death

A case of reckless and negligent driving is being investigated by the Colenso Police, after three security guards were seriously injured, when their vehicle crashed into the Tugela River along the R103, on the morning of 11 February.

According to paramedics on the scene the man had been found completely under water, trapped in the vehicle.

Security guard arrested

One of the security guards was promptly arrested for allegedly being involved in the shooting that injured a man in his lower back, last Friday afternoon.

The injured man lies still, while EMRS paramedics stablise him, before transporting him to the local hospital.

A local security guard was promptly arrested by members of the police and will be appearing in court on charges of attempted murder, after he allegedly was involved in a shooting that injured another fellow security officer. According to the police, the two guards were on duty at a business premises in the Dranskraal industrial area on November 7.
